The short answer
In India in 2026, a logo alone runs from a few thousand rupees to well over a lakh. A full brand identity — logo, system, guidelines and applications — typically sits between ₹50,000 and ₹3,00,000 for a small or mid-sized business. Large-agency work starts higher and goes considerably further.
That range is wide because "branding" describes four very different purchases.
What you are actually buying
- A logo. One mark, a few file formats. No system, no rules, no applications.
- A logo and guidelines. The mark plus written standards — colour, type, spacing, misuse — so it survives other people using it.
- A full identity. Logo, system, guidelines, stationery, social templates and at least one collateral set.
- Brand strategy and identity. Positioning, naming and messaging before any design begins.
Most people asking about cost are picturing the first and quoting against the third, which is where the confusion starts.
Rough tiers in the Indian market
Freelance, early career — ₹3,000 to ₹15,000
You get a mark. Turnaround is fast and the price is low. What is usually missing is the thinking behind it and the system around it — which is why a lot of this work gets replaced within two years.
Experienced freelancer or small studio — ₹15,000 to ₹60,000
A considered mark, usually with basic guidelines. Good value if your needs are contained and you can brief well.
Independent agency — ₹60,000 to ₹2,50,000
Strategy, identity, a written system and applications. You are paying for the decisions as much as the drawing. Most growing businesses land here.
Large agency — ₹3,00,000 and up
Research, naming, category analysis, extensive rollout. Right for funded companies and multi-market brands; overkill for most.
What actually changes the price
- Number of applications. A logo is one deliverable. Packaging across nine SKUs is nine.
- Whether naming is included. Naming is a separate discipline and usually a separate fee.
- How many decision-makers. Every extra approver adds rounds, and rounds cost money.
- Sector constraints. Regulated work — finance, healthcare, legal — takes longer because claims have to survive scrutiny.
- Speed. Rush work carries a premium everywhere, usually 20–30%.
A ₹15,000 product with a ₹500 logo is a ₹500 product.
The real cost of going too cheap
The cheapest quote is rarely the cheapest outcome. Redoing an identity means reprinting packaging, relisting on marketplaces, re-shooting product, updating signage and rebuilding recognition you had already started to earn.
We have rebuilt brands two years after a low-cost logo more often than we have built from zero. The second attempt always costs more than doing it once.
What we charge
For context rather than as a rate card: our logo design starts at ₹18,000, logo with brand guidelines at ₹32,000, and a full brand identity at ₹65,000. Packaging is quoted per SKU from ₹15,000.
Scope drives the fee, so we quote per brand after a conversation rather than from a fixed price list. You get a written scope before anything starts — no hourly surprises.
Questions worth asking any studio
- What exactly is delivered, in file formats?
- How many revision rounds are included, and what does another cost?
- Who owns the final artwork, and when does it transfer?
- Is naming, strategy or copywriting included, or quoted separately?
- What would you do differently on half this budget?
That last one is the most revealing question you can ask. The answer tells you what they think actually matters.
Common questions
How much does a logo cost in India?
Anywhere from ₹3,000 with an early-career freelancer to over ₹1,00,000 with an established agency. The difference is rarely the drawing — it is the strategy behind it and the system around it.
Is expensive branding worth it for a small business?
Not always. A small business with one product and one channel may genuinely need a good mark and nothing more. The cost is justified when several people will produce work in your name and it has to stay consistent.
What is included in a brand identity package?
Typically the logo and its variants, colour palette, typography, imagery direction, written guidelines, and a starting set of applications such as stationery and social templates.
How much should a startup budget for branding?
A funded startup building from zero should expect ₹60,000 to ₹2,50,000 for identity work with an independent agency. Bootstrapped businesses can start smaller and build the system later.
